An Introduction to Transactional Analysis - the TA101
Transactional Analysis is used in counselling and psychotherapy, in organisations, in education and across the world by individuals for their personal and professional development. Run over two days the TA101 is an introduction to the theories and application of Transactional Analysis. This is a generic course meeting an international syllabus and serving as an introduction to the application of TA in the fields of counselling, psychotherapy, education and organisational practice.

The TA101 is an excellent standalone course whether undertaken as CPD, personal development or as a precursor to entering TA counselling or psychotherapy training. The course is certificated by the Institute of Transactional Analysis in the UK. Attendance is obligatory for those entering Transactional Analysis based counselling or psychotherapy training; courses are run by CPTI in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, by other ITA registered training organisations around Britain and by EATA or ITAA affiliates elsewhere. CPTI accepts certificates issued by ITA, EATA and ITAA or affiliates of these organisations.

The course provides an introduction to this well established system that describes personality, communication and human development by introducing the basic theories in TA and invites an examination of applications in both personal life and at work. By attending this course participants can:

• Understand TA theories of communication, personality and human development
• Understand the application of TA in psychotherapy, counselling, education and organisations
• Take models of behaviour to use in your their personal development and in their work
• Gain the TA101 Certificate issued by the Institute of Transactional Analysis; this entitles you to apply for Regular membership of the ITA.
• Consider TA as a training opportunity for professional development or for a career change
• Assess TA as a model for further training

TA101 Availability
CPTI offer TA101 courses in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. CPTI will also run courses elsewhere where sufficient demand is demonstrated or in-house for an organisation.
