Therapy and Counselling Centre

At the centre South Side Health rent rooms supported by a reception and telephone service to counsellors, psychotherapists and allied practioners.

The South Side Centre is located on Causewayside which goes south from the Dick Vet College by the Meadows.  Rooms are on the first floor and vary in size from small rooms suitable for working one to one or with couples to meeting or training rooms for up to 15 people.

There is a waiting area and a reception manned Monday to Friday during office hours. Practitioners are free to work in the evenings and at weekends but take responsibility for admitting clients.

The centre is very busy and the spaces available are mainly in the mornings and some weekends, however enquiries from counsellors and therapists for other times are welcome.  Rooms are let on hour by hour basis for occasional or intermittent work and by contract for a fixed time each week for a minimum of 2.5 hours.  There is a fixed rate of large for rooms which is reduced for contract holders; contract charges are based on the length of time contracted for and the time of day. 

All practitioners are required to hold professional indemnity insurance, subscribe to a code of ethics by a professional membership and show a qualification or authority to practice in the work offered.

Once approved, practitioners may list the centre address and telephone number in their literature and advertising.

Meeting and training rooms may be rented by the day or half day.  Evidence of indemnity insurance is required together with evidence of the validity of any training offered.
